August 13, 2024 - (London, UK) The fifth annual Cargo Bike Cruise in Central London on Aug. 7 saw more than 80 cargo bikes representing 50+ businesses, from couriers to plumbers and electricians, along with several MPs reports The Standard and other outlets.
The event was in support of the Clean Cargo Capital campaign by Clean Cities who’s research showed a 63% increase in the use of cargo bikes across London between 2022 and 2023. The initiative hopes to encourage more businesses to replace polluting vans with environmentally-friendly e-cargo bikes.
Additional research by Transport for London (TfL) indicates that, “…cargo bikes could replace up to 17% of vans in parts of London by 2030 resulting in a potential carbon reduction across Greater London in the region of 30,000 tonnes of CO2.”
