June 2, 2020 - A Europe-focussed part of the United Nations argues that the “mass use of cars will not be sustainable” after global lockdowns ease reports Carlton Reid in Forbes.com. To meet international climate change obligations, governments will instead have to fund and promote “more environmentally sound, healthy and sustainable” forms of mobility, “particularly bicycle use.”
The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe—or UNECE—is advocating for post-pandemic transport based on “sustainability and resilience.”
