July 1, 2020 - (Vancouver, BC) 60 Day Cycle, produced by renowned Squamish-based Anthill Films for the National Film Board (NFB) follows a lone cyclist, Jo Osborne, exploring downtown Vancouver during the COVID-19 pandemic – watch below.
The five-minute film depicts Osborne starting in a Deep Cove forest and then wending his way through the city’s empty streets, which gradually start to show more signs of life.
An award-winning Canadian company, Anthill Films, specializes in outdoor adventure films, and is operated by partners Darcy Wittenburg, Colin Jones and Darren McCullough. Strength in Numbers and their Return to Earth series are recent releases.
“They (NFB) wanted to do something to capture the feeling of the city and the emptiness of it,” Wittenburg told Vancouver is Awesome. “Us, having a cycling background, naturally we starting thinking about a little thread that could carry us through the piece.”
