October 19, 2020 - Ride Zygg, North America’s first subscription e-bike service that debuted in June in Toronto, has seen strong demand as the pandemic continues to make people wary of taking public transit reports the Globe and Mail.
“Weʼve got people from Regent Park to Rosedale, from 21 to 82 years old, all giving it a try, and for all different reasons,” says founder Kevin McLaughlin, who co-founded car-sharing companies AutoShare and Modo. Zygg also has riders in Etobicoke, Mississauga, North York and Scarborough.
For $69 to $189 a month, Zygg will rent you a pedal-assist electric bicycle. No sharing, no docking – it is, effectively, your e-bike. Pricing varies, depending on which of their three e-bike models you select and whether you subscribe for a 12-month contract.
