Paris to Remove 70,000 Parking Spaces for a More Pedestrian & Cycling Friendly City

December 8, 2020 - Socialist party mayor Anne Hidalgo, re-elected for a second term, is planning to remove 70,000 car parking spaces to make Paris more pedestrian- and cyclist-friendly reports ITS International.

David Belliard, deputy mayor in charge of transport, mobility and transforming public space, recently made the announcement and residents will be consulted as to how they want to see the new space used.
