May 3, 2021 - Separated bike lanes across the City of Waterloo, which were part of a pilot project and saw 57% increased use on average, will become permanent reports CBC.ca.
The report showed increases of 105% for morning and afternoon peak hours and Waterloo’s regional council voted to end the pilot phase and begin plans to make the bike lanes permanent.
“The dramatic increase, within the first year, points to the significant latent demand for higher quality cycling facilities,” the report said.
