Trek Bicycle Announces Voluntary Recall of All Bontrager Satellite City Pedals

release by Trek Bicycle

May 31, 2021 - (Waterloo, WI) – Trek Bicycle, in coordination with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, has announced a voluntary recall of all bicycles equipped with Bontrager Satellite City pedals and all Bontrager Satellite City pedals sold as an aftermarket product in the United States and Canada.

Recalled Bontrager Satellite City Pedals

The affected pedals were installed on Trek Allant+, Dual Sport+, FX 2, FX 3, Verve 2, Verve 3, and Verve+ bicycle models. If the affected pedals are incorrectly installed by the retailer during assembly, they can fall off the crank arm of the bicycle, posing a fall and injury hazard to the rider.

Customers should immediately stop using bicycles equipped with these pedals and contact their local Trek retailer for replacement pedals. Details of the recall can be found here.

As part of this voluntary action, Trek is asking its retailers to install replacement pedals free of charge. All customers who bring in their pedals for replacement will also receive a $26 in-store credit good towards any Trek or Bontrager merchandise. The in-store credit is valid through December 31, 2021 and has no cash value.
