release by Divvy Bike Share

July 19, 2021 - Time to get pumped, Chicago. We’re stoked to announce that Divvy is rolling out its next phase of expansion—this summer, pedal-assist Divvy ebikes and hundreds of e-stations will be landing in the Northwest and Southwest sides of Chicago.

This new 2021 expansion to the Northwest and Southwest covers an additional 35 square miles, with over 100 e-stations, which includes the following neighborhoods: Belmont Cragin, Hermosa, North Lawndale, Little Village, Austin, West Humboldt Park, Brighton Park, Gage Park, Dunning, Portage Park, Archer Heights, West Elsdon, and West Lawn.

In Summer/Fall 2020, the  Divvy service area grew by more than 50% to cover 155 square miles, extending service throughout the Far South Side. The network of 78 stations was designed based on community input gathered in Summer 2019 at more than 165 events, engaging over 15,000 people.

We’ve been asking for community feedback along the way to make sure you feel safe riding around and that bikes are available where there are things to do and popular places to go.

With more ebike availability, getting around just got a lot more convenient. Whether it’s to commute, run errands, or just to meet up with friends at the park, Divvy’s got the wheels to get you moving the more fun way.
