Swapfiets Bicycle Subcription Launches New Game-changing Power 1 eBike

release by Swapfiets

September 10, 2021 - Swapfiets has unveiled the Power 1, an e-bike they believe can supercharge the electric cycling boom in Europe. The need and demand for e-bikes has never been greater, but for many the up-front costs and concerns about maintenance are prohibitive. The Power 1 changes that.

Available for an ultra-competitive €49.90 per month, including repairs and insurance, the Power 1 is a first in the e-bike marketplace – a premium quality entry-level bike, crafted specifically for the city, and affordable for all.

The design of the bike has been years in the making. Since launching in 2014, Swapfiets has signed up over 250,000 customers to its unique monthly subscription service, building up an immense amount of data, insight and expertise along the way. Every repair is logged and analysed. All feedback is absorbed.

All of that vital knowledge has fed into the Power 1, and the result is an e-bike streamlined and refined for the particular requirements of city life.

We are incredibly excited to launch the Power 1 and believe it will be a game-changer in the e-bike market. This is a first for the industry – a premium e-bike developed specifically for the city and introduced for less than 50 Euros a month including hassle-free repairs and service. The Power 1 removes the barriers to getting an e-bike, delivering top performance for an unbeatable price.

Marc de Vries, CEO of Swapfiets

The name of the bike comes from its single speed set-up, which means no gears, making it easy to use and maintain. It is powered by a Shimano E5000 e-bike system which offers three levels of electrical assistance up to a top speed of 25km/h. The battery is removable and when fully charged provides a maximum range of up to 80km – perfect for a full day of work and play in the city.

The Power 1 has a stylish aluminium step-over frame, is available in multiple colours and weighs in at just 26kg. Like all Swapfiets products it is built to last, but in the event of technical problems then repair is guaranteed inside 48 hours.

The components used for the Power 1 were chosen in line with Swapfiets’ commitment to a circular business model. By 2025, every single bike will be 100 percent circular, meaning each and every part can be reused, remanufactured or recycled.
