October 28, 2021 - Trek’s all-new Rail with 11 models in the line up is the ultimate electric mountain bike that pushes the envelope to tackle all terrain for any e-adventure… “rips like a rowdy analog trail bike” says Trek.
Offering more power and more fun, all models feature the 250-watt Bosch Performance Line CX motor with 85Nm of torque that pairs with a removable integrated battery (RIB).
The Rail 9.7 and below use the same frame as previous models along with a 625 watt-hour battery while the Rail 9.8 and up have new frames with Slash-inspired geometry – 64.5-degree head angle and longer reach; bigger 1.8” head tube and 34.9mm seat tube; capacity for larger 750 watt-hour battery.
In addition all Rail 9.8 models and up feature Bosch’s new Smart System with the eBike Flow app along the PowerTube 750 offering 20% greater range, and the Kiox 300 display.
The app gives both iOS and Android users access to numerous functions and synchronizes activity data automatically, plus with ‘over the air’ updates the app always keeps you current with the latest features.
The eBike Flow app can also recognize your Rail bike, customize the app display and help you find local Trek retailers with additional features unique to Trek in the future.
The Rail 9.9 models feature easy-to-use air-pressure setup tools. TyreWiz monitors your tire pressure while AirWiz monitors your fork and shock pressure. Set the desired pressure in the SRAM AXS app and then just check the lights before each ride. Red means you need a pump. Green means go ride.
The top level 9.9 XTR features Bosch’s new smart system and a new OCLV mountain carbon frame equipped with RockShox suspension featuring a ZEB Ultimate front fork with AirWiz and 160mm of travel, along with a Super Deluxe Ultimate RT3 rear shock also with AirWiz.
The Shimano XTR 12-speed drivetrain delivers on demand and the hydraulic disc brakes along with Bontrager Line Pro 30 wheels with TyreWiz and Bontrager Team Issue SE6 tubeless-ready tires are dialed to keep you rolling. The Bontrager Line Elite Dropper seatpost offers additional comfort and mobility.
With a range up to 80 miles or 129 kilometers you’re ready for all-day excursions. The compact and lightweight 4A Charger takes six hours to fully charge the battery, and just over two hours for a 50% charge.
