January 23, 2022 - Two wheels continue to dominate as e-bikes remain the best-selling EV in the USA with imports at nearly 790,000 units vs 652,000 electric cars bought by Americans in 2021 reports Bloomberg Green.

According to the latest figures from the Light Electric Vehicle Association (LEVA), BloombergNEF and the NPD Group the U.S. electric bike market continues to boom.

Comprehensive sales data on e-bikes is hard to get for example the NPD Group collects point-of-sale information from bike shops, outdoor stores, and other big-box retailers butdoes not capture direct-to-consumer brands such as Rad Power Bikes and VanMoof.

The U.S. still lags far behind Europe and Asia, where estimated annual sales are about 3 million and 35 million respectively.
