March 18, 2022 - The market leader for high-performance e-bikes overcame challenges presented by the pandemic in financial year 2021 to increase sales once again. Renewed interest in cycling due to social distancing requirements had a positive contribution to rider engagement and business growth.
The Stromer OMNI connect user interface registered over 42 million miles ridden by Stromer owners worldwide last year. Sales increased in most markets, with the strongest growth coming in the U.S. at 49.5%. Sales remain strong in Belgium and the Netherlands with market shares of 38.5% and 35% respectively.
With the support of the European private equity firm Naxicap, which took over myStromer AG in the summer of 2021, the Stromer team is continuing to focus on further solidifying their leading position in the market of high-performance e-bikes and capitalizing on the full potential of the brand. Specific emphasis has been given to expansion into new markets, scaling of the business model and the development of new, innovative products.
Highlights of these 2021 investments include:
• Jeffery Selzer and Mark Ashley, bike industry veterans, added to the North American sales team
• Personnel additions in quality, purchasing, production and logistics, bringing global staff to 140
• New ERP system
• B2B online shop for spare parts
• Opened new EU service center in Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands on March 1, 2021
