The success of introducing cycling patrols to police forces across Canada, the USA and around the world has finally taken hold at one of the most austere Canadian police institutions.

“We’re excited about this new ecological and environment-friendly concept. Our officers are the fittest in the country and we may even start a cycling team down the road,” said an RCMP spokesperson in an official release.

The RCMP is unique in the world since it is a national, federal, provincial and municipal policing body represented by more than 19,000 police officers, and supported by over 11,000 civilian members and public servants. The agency provides total federal policing service to all Canadians with over 700 detachments in 150 communities across the country, also provide policing services in more than 600 Indigenous communities.
