Small Swedish Town Implements eCargo Bike Pilot Program to Replace Vehicles

May 3, 2022 - (Sweden) Karlskoga, a Swedish municipality about 300 km east of Oslo with a population about 27,400, is implementing a one-year pilot offering some municipal workers the opportunity to choose between using a vehicle or an e-cargo bike for their delivery services reports The Mayor EU.

The program is intended to improve employees’ health, reduce harmful emissions, and decrease expenses as the e-cargo bikes are much cheaper to buy and maintain than vehicles. The business unit running the test program transports laundry to and from users receiving in-home care.
