May 14, 2022 - (Bristol, UK) An investment of £920,000 by the West of England Combined Authority will see a year-long trial of e-cargo bikes to replace diesel vans for hospitals and universities in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Bath and North East Somerset reports BBC News.
Recent estimates suggest e-cargo bikes deliver about 60% faster than diesel vans and cut carbon emissions by 90%. “We really don’t want to be contributing to the health impacts of transporting things around the hospital sites,” said Sam Willitts, one of the trial participants from the Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI).
