May 17, 2022 - Ford Europe unveiled its new bold “park the car” campaign to make the world a better place. The initiative was spearheaded by Ford Europe president, Stuart Rowley, who notes that 50% of car journeys in Europe are less than 5km which could easily be managed by cycling or walking.
“While Ford is working to ensure every person is free to move and pursue their dreams, we are also committed to building a better world. We are already working hard to bring about the electrification revolution and by 2035, we will achieve zero emissions for all vehicle sales. But there is something else we can all do, right now. Park the car,” says Rowley in an official release.
“It is probably the last thing many people would expect from an auto maker. However, driving responsibly is no longer just about safety. It’s also about caring for our environment and our health – and walking or cycling once a day, active travel, can bring about significant change.”
