July 10, 2022 - Higher fuel costs, environmental concerns, and ease of movement are spurring a cargo bike boom in the UK resulting in almost double sales in five months to the end of May, according to the Bicycle Association reports The Guardian.
That comes after more than 40% growth last year. Clogged streets mean parents are looking for alternatives for school runs, and shopping trips. The more people are seen doing it, the more chance someone driving past in their car thinks, ‘I might do that.’
Dan Parsons, from retailer Fully Charged in London, said he was selling dozens of cargo bikes a week while Richard Armitage at Manchester Bikes said his sales of cargo bikes are up 50% year on year.
