Cargo bike sales
Survey respondents expect to sell almost 100,000 cargo bikes in 2022. An estimated 400,000-500,000 will sell across Europe. Three years ago, only one company reported selling more than 5000 bikes. Now there are six

Across all respondents, commercial bikes
* generate €400M
* employ 28,000 people
* same 50,000 tones of CO2 per year

Projecting across Europe commercial bikes
* generate €2.5 Bn in revenue
* employ 170,000 people
* same 302,000 tons of CO2 per year

Van-free logistics
87% of the companies use their cargo bike fleet for deliveries. Most of these are SMEs, creating local jobs.

More cargo bikes
The average number of cargo bikes in a fleet has more than quadrupled since 2019.

Growing workforce
Since 2019, the average number of company employees has tripled. On average, nearly a quarter of them are women.

With this growth, we could easily see the cargo bike sector becoming one of the largest growth areas in green mobility. The potential is far from being fully exploited.
