December 6, 2022 - A Deloitte e-mobility study in Germany has found that e-bikes were vastly more popular than electric cars and more practical that regular bikes reports Treehugger.
A total of 18% of the respondents stated they used an e-bike, compared to 7% who said they use an electric car. Another benefit of e-bikes over e-cars is that they are not just transportation but also fun according to 37% of those surveyed, making them the most “attractive” form of an electric vehicle.
E-bikes are used for trips with a median length of 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) and had a positive perception among a wide range of consumers. Also the electric motor supports, but does not replace the user’s physical performance, which added to the popularity and acceptance of e-bikes over other means of e-mobility.
