IAA MOBILITY 2023 Features the IAA Summit a Superlative Mobility Industry Gathering Sept. 5-8

release by IAA MOBILITY

June 12, 2023 - (Berlin/Munich, GER) The IAA Summit is the most important industry gathering for visionaries, stakeholders and decision-makers in the mobility sector for networking and discussions – over 500 speakers will be speaking at the IAA Conference, which is included with the IAA Summit ticket.

Compared to 2021, this year’s IAA MOBILITY will segregate the two target groups, namely the trade visitors (B2B) and the general public (B2C), in terms of space as well as content. In the IAA Open Space, the mobility concepts of the future will be brought right into the heart of downtown Munich. The general public (B2C) has free access to this.

The IAA Summit and the accompanying IAA Conference will take place from September 5-8 at the trade fair site in Munich-Riem for trade visitors (B2B). The IAA Conference will be a visionary summit: expected to take place across six halls and three stages, the IAA Conference, the heart of the IAA Summit, will offer a wealth of knowledge with groundbreaking keynotes and contributions by over 500 speakers.

“The IAA Summit is the most important, international B2B platform for mobility that brings subject matter experts, industry representatives, journalists and the leading community together in one place. We are very happy that we have been able to rope in world-renowned speakers who will talk about the mobility of the future at the IAA Conference,” says Jürgen Mindel, Managing Director, VDA.

“Wealth of knowledge” from a space enthusiast to a software scientist
In addition to high-ranking speakers from the automotive industry such as Oliver Blume (CEO Volkswagen), Stefan Hartung (CEO Bosch) or Nikolai Setzer (CEO Continental), Alyssa Carson will also speak. The 22-year-old is the first person to go through and complete all three NASA camps in the world. In addition, she has traveled to all 14 NASA Visitation Centers, making her the first person to complete the “NASA Passport Program”. She is one of seven ambassadors for “Mars One”, a mission to establish a human colony on Mars in 2030.

Then there is SANDRA WOLF, CEO of the Hessian bicycle manufacturer Riese & Müller. The bike expert has led the company as managing partner for ten years. In the past three years, however, she says that an “uncanny dynamic” has developed: a large number of new players, including companies from the automotive industry such as Porsche, have become active in the bicycle sector.

MEREDITH GLASER, Executive Director of the Urban Cycling Institute in Amsterdam, promises a change of perspective. Her research focuses on policy innovation, knowledge transfer and accelerating the implementation of sustainable transport goals.

Furthermore, tech giants like Cristiano Amon (CEO Qualcomm), Jochen Hanebeck (CEO Infineon), or the CEOs of supplier companies like Valeo (Christophe Perillat), as well as further high-ranking representatives of the automotive industry will also be speaking. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a Diamond Sponsor of the IAA Conference and will be providing exciting insights into its visions. IAA MOBILITY will publish a list of all the speakers at the beginning of July.

The IAA Conference – a platform that covers the entire mobility sector
Until IAA MOBILITY 2021, there was no global platform that integrated all forms of mobility. This is and remains the unique selling point of the B2B section of IAA MOBILITY, which is held every two years at the Munich trade fair site. Why is this important? Because the transformation is far from over, especially in the areas of cycling and micromobility industry, technology and digitalization, infrastructure and urban planning, public transport and telecommunications. Mutual exchange, especially between the different disciplines, is a must in order to achieve progress.

The future of cars and bikes, road and rail, alternative drives and data-driven innovations, big visions and small political decisions, global sustainability and local availability will be areas of special focus. The attendees will include policy makers, international companies and global non-governmental organizations.

The IAA Summit at the Munich trade fair site is the place where futuristic innovations and developments by leading international companies will meet numerous experts from a wide range of sectors in the field of mobility. A meeting place where the mobility of the future will be presented and discussed in a social and policy-relevant context. Some more speakers at the IAA Conference include Martin Brudermüller (CEO BASF), Richard Lutz (Chairman of the Board Deutsche Bahn), Hildegard Müller (President VDA) Olaf Scholz (Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany) and Carsten Spohr (CEO Lufthansa).

Speed Dating for Experts
To order to facilitate networking at IAA MOBILITY, the company Mobility Makers organizes very special appointments: In the so-called “B2B Speed Dating”, participants are brought together in several 10-minute one-on-one meetings with companies, startups, policy decision-makers, venture capital companies or journalists, depending on their interests. These Mobility Meetings are free of charge and guarantee matchmaking according to the relevant fields of interest.

25 different models for personal test drives
The market for electric cars is booming, and the range of models is also increasing rapidly. As a fleet manager, it is hard to keep track of everything. With the “firmenauto test drive”, ETM Verlag offers orientation and the opportunity to experience over two dozen vehicles live at the trade fair center and around Munich. Visitors can test various models with electric drives in just one day. In total, more than 25 different models are available for personal test drives. At this stage, manufacturers Alfa Romeo, Citroën, Cupra, DS, Fiat, Jeep, Kia, Lynk&Co, MG, Nissan, Nio, Opel, Peugeot, Polestar, Porsche, Skoda and Volvo have confirmed their participation with various vehicles.

Global startups and SMEs take advantage of numerous country pavilions
Several country representatives have registered joint booths with high-profile companies and startups for IAA MOBILITY 2023, thus supporting their presence in Munich. These include the Invest in Canada joint stand, the Cordition Future Mobility Pavilion, the European High-Tech Pavilion, the Official French Pavilion, the Israel Export Institute National Pavilion and the Taiwan Trade Center. In addition, the following booths from German states will be represented: Bayern Innovativ,
Mobility Region Ingolstadt, Saarland Innovation and LEG Thüringen – State Development Corporation.

IAA MOBILITY 2023 again welcomes the World Cycling Forum in Munich
For the second time, the World Cycling Forum (WCF) will take place in Munich this year as part of the IAA MOBILITY, namely on 05 and 06 September. The WCF brings experts from the cycling industry and key decision-makers together under one roof at the IAA Summit in order to discuss the opportunities for the industry in a constantly changing market. In particular, topics such as the use of industry data, the impact of the circular economy and that of e-bikes, government legislation and the digital future will play a major role.

All participants of the World Cycling Forum 2023 will receive free and direct access to the IAA MOBILITY at the IAA Summit, which will take place at the same venue (Munich, Riem trade fair site). On the other hand, the trade visitor ticket for the IAA MOBILITY formats IAA Summit and IAA Conference does not include access to the World Cycling Forum.
