Stromer eBikes Stolen but Recovered in Frankfurt during Eurobike as Thief is Chased and Caught

June 25, 2023 - (Frankfurt, GER) Stromer’s Tomi Viiala, the co-CEO, reported on LinkedIN that on day three of Eurobike in Frankfurt while out at team dinner, two of their e-bikes were stolen but the thief was run down and caught following a harrowing evening that involved a chase, pepper spray, a tackle and the police.

Viiala wrote, “It’s 01.26 o clock and I thought after 3 days Eurobike I will have an easy evening”, but after dinner they realized that two of their Stromer e-bikes were stolen. They found one about 20 m away blinking in theft mode and then saw “the thief riding the other Stromer without light and power. (The guy probably thinking why it’s so hard to pedal 🤣).”

They chased the thief, who used pepper spray to try and escape, but eventually one of the Stromer staffers tackled him, and after calling 110, the police and ambulance arrived within minutes.

Fortunately no one was seriously injured, the two e-bikes were recovered and the thief was apprehended. “Amazing dedication to help each other, and with that team spirit we will overcome all challenges, and I am proud to work for and with them,” wrote Viiala.
