Women in Cycling Breakfast at Eurobike 2024 Sees Great Turnout of 200+ Attendees

July 7, 2024 - (Frankfurt, GER) Organizers of the Women in Cycling Breakfast on day three at Eurobike 2024 were excited to welcome over 200 women who gathered for a networking session to exchange and share ideas, success stories, and the challenges to empower women to gain more visibility in the cycling industry.

MC’d by Isabell Eberlein from Velokonzept, the initial speakers included Hanna Bauer (GER), Ash Lovell (USA), Deborah Wu (TWN), Kerstin Kortekamp (GER) and Pinar Pinzutti (ITA) for a mix of local and international presentations covering cargo bikes, data, the power of the media, and more.

Additional presentations saw Jill Warren, CEO of the European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF), and Lauha Marianne Fried, Policy Director at Cycling Industries Europe (CIE), who delved into the power of national and international networks to help transform the system fundamentally.

“It is exciting to see Women in Cycling growing. So many things are happening. We now have WIC groups in France, Women in Cycling Germany, Switzerland, and for mountain biking. There are even new ideas, such as WIC for cargo bikes and a global WIC with a possible launch at the Taipei Show 2025,” commented Fried on LinkedIN.

Julia Wiegand from Strategische Mobilitätsgestaltung based in Germany commented, “What an inspiring network meeting we had at the EUROBIKE SHOW aiming for diversity in the cycling sector.”

Sweden’s Johanna Gemrud, Head of Marketing and Business Development på Cycleurope, echoed similar sentiments, “After three days at the Eurobike bike fair in Germany, the network in Women in Cycling is the nicest thing I take home with me.”
