July 28, 2024 - (Toronto, ON) Toronto City Councillor Dianne Saxe is calling for criminal charges to be laid following the death of a 24-year-old female cyclist who was struck by the driver of a dump truck in downtown Toronto on the morning of July 25 reports CBC News – read more here.
Saxe, who represents Ward 11, University-Rosedale, where the incident occurred, said that a construction bin was illegally placed in the middle of a bike lane and blocked it, thus forcing the cyclist into the vehicle lane. According to Saxe, both the general contractor and the customer, should charged with criminal negligence causing death.
