People in the Netherlands are Cycling Even More as the Popularity of eBikes Keeps Soaring

According to data from Dutch mobility associations RAI and BOVAG, people in the Netherlands have cycled over 100 kilometres more compared to 10 years ago, which is attributed to the growing popularity of electric bicycles, reports I Am Expat.

Since 2010, the number of bicycles in the Netherlands has increased from 22.3 million to 24.1 million in 2023 – more than the country’s population of around 18 million. A majority of the 804,101 bicycles purchased last year were e-bikes, representing 56% of sales.
