April 11, 2025 - (Monterey, CA) Bright skies, intense racing and the largest number of exhibitors ever greeted day one of the Life Time Sea Otter Classic presented by Continental.
The 35th edition of the iconic event runs from Thursday, April 10 to Sunday, April 13. On the opening day, cycling and outdoor brands came together with industry leaders to kick off the expo. In the afternoon, all eyes were on the opening race of the Life Time Grand Prix as it concluded, with fans cheering on their favorite cycling legends.

The 2025 Life Time Grand Prix Launches in Style
The 2025 Life Time Sea Otter Classic presented by Continental opened in spectacular fashion, with Keegan Swenson and Haley Batten claiming victory in the elite gravel races — the first event in this year’s Life Time Grand Prix series.
Now in its 35th edition, the Life Time Sea Otter Classic saw the Life Time Grand Prix discipline switch from the Fuego XL to gravel for the first time. But the change in terrain did nothing to disrupt Swenson’s dominance, as the 31-year-old powered to his fourth consecutive win in Monterey with a decisive late attack on the final ascent up Lookout Ridge.
In the women’s race, Olympic silver medallist Haley Batten rode solo to an emphatic win. However, as Batten is not competing in the Life Time Grand Prix, it was Sofía Gómez Villafañe — second across the line — who earned the maximum Life Time Grand Prix points, continuing her consistent reign at the top of the series standings.

Day one of the 2025 Life Time Sea Otter Classic saw more than 1,000 brands exhibiting their products, services and innovations. New products include the latest from Continental Tires, CADEX and fizik.
Today, Continental Tires launched three new MTB tires: Dubnital, Trinotal, and Magnotal. The new tires replace the iconic Race King, Cross King, and Mountain King ProTection models, delivering significant upgrades for XC, downcountry, and all-mountain riders.
CADEX introduced its innovative Amp 3D Saddle, featuring cutting-edge materials and design to enhance comfort, efficiency, and overall performance. The saddle boasts exclusive 3D-printed gyroid padding, an ultralight carbon base, and precision engineering to optimize rider experience across various terrains.
Italian brand fizik unveiled an all-new range of helmets designed for every rider and discipline. The collection includes four high-performance models: the Kudo and Kudo Aero for road, gravel, and XC riders, the Kassis for off-road trail enthusiasts, and the Kunée, optimized for time trials and triathlons.
