May 4, 2025 - Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. announces that it has signed an agreement with Brose, a German automotive parts manufacturer, to acquire its e-bike drive unit business subsidiary. The agreement is scheduled to be finalized by June 2025, subject to applicable regulations. Alongside this acquisition, a
new subsidiary, Yamaha Motor eBike Systems, has been established in Germany and will begin operating in June. This will allow Yamaha to build its market presence, respond swiftly to local customer demands, acquire new customers and expand its business operations within the European market, while enhancing its efforts in green mobility. The electric power-assisted bicycle business, which is expected to see long-term growth, is in line with Yamaha’s strategic new Medium- Term Management Plan (2025–2027) announced in February 2025.
