eSystems – TQ Group Unveils TQ-HPR60 & TQ-HPR40 eDrive Systems

September 28, 2025 - In early June, TQ Group unveiled their new TQ-HPR60 Drive System featuring a 20% increase in torque and a 17% increase in motor power. The new system features an improved cooling concept to deliver power even more quietly and efficiently.

Aimed at the mountain bike market and delivering up to 60Nm of torque and 350W of peak power, the new HPR60 Drive Unit is supported by either a 290Wh, 360Wh or 580Wh battery, and a 2” fully integrated OLED colour display with a minimalistic handlebar remote.

Weighing in at 1,924 grams the HPR60 Drive Unit is claimed to be the lightest e-bike system in its category, totalling only 3.525kg when paired with a 290Wh battery.

Additionally, the Q-factor of the drive unit is only 135mm, offering a natural and efficient feel at the pedals, much like an analog bike.

Later in June at Eurobike 2025 in Frankfurt, the lightweight TQ-HPR40 drive system was presented for
road and gravel bikes. Weighing a mere 1,170 grams while delivering 40Nm of torque and up to 200 watts of power, the system also features only three ride modes that are fully customizable through the TQ app.

Paired with a 290Wh battery at 1,460g and featuring the highest energy density on the market, it offers a range up to 130km and 2000m of climbing. The total system weighs just 2.7kg and claims to deliver the best ratio of weight to capacity in its class, along with a Q-factor that’s identical to analog bikes.

Built around TQ’s patented Harmonic Pin-Ring Transmission, both the HPR40 and the HPR60 offer virtually no lag in engagement, and no drag when coasting.

The batteries on both systems can be increased by a further 160Wh with an optional range extender that’s the size of a 500ml water bottle for those extra-long all-day epics.

In addition, a TQ Smart Box, which is neatly hidden inside the frame, is another feature of both systems. The Smart Box offers unprecedented third-party integration for almost all electronically powered components like shifters, lighting, sensors or other peripherals, regardless of the manufacturer, allowing for an e-bike that looks just like an analog bike.
