September 28, 2025 - In mid-August, the North American Bikeshare and Scootershare Association (NABSA), a nonprofit membership-based association representing public, private, and nonprofit organizations in shared micromobility, released its sixth annual Shared Micromobility State of the Industry Report for North America.

The total number of trips in 2024 increased 31% from that of 2023, which makes 2024 the second record- setting year in a row. At least 225 million trips were taken on shared micromobility in 2024, in which 415 cities in North America had one or more shared micromobility system. The total shared micromobility vehicles deployed increased 19% from 2023 numbers to 333,000.

Electrification continues to be a major trend, both on the ridership side as well as operations. In 2024, 79% of shared micromobility systems included e-devices, and 66% of shared micromobility trips were taken on e-devices. E-bike trips reached an all-time high at 64 million trips, while e-scooter trips continued to rise, reaching 85 million trips.
