October 3, 2025 - (Utrecht, the Netherlands) The International Cargo Bike Festival (ICBF) returns for the second year in a row to the world-renowned cycling city of Utrecht. New this year is a focus on professional visitors; ICBF 2025 will treat the cargo bike industry’s top innovators, experts, and enthusiasts with a packed programme of speakers, panels, pitches, product launches and film screenings.

Visitors can also take advantage of top-notch networking with a uniquely international (for the cargo bike industry) group of participants, while the Conversation Starter platform will allow attendees to matchmake and set up meetings in advance of the event. Visitor entrance is free of charge; a deliberate move by the organisers to keep the ICBF as accessible as possible.

Cargo bike expo and test track
The ICBF’s proven formula of cargo bike expo with adjacent test-track will once again return, at the same venue as in 2024: Jaarbeurs. This set up will give visitors the chance to explore the most cutting-edge innovations in the cargo bike industry and immediately try them out the test track. Exhibitors include the leading cargo bike, trailer and tech manufacturers that ICBF visitors have come to expect (names like Fulpra, NÜWIEL, CIXI and Cargo Cycling), alongside a fresh crop of exciting startups from countries as far-flung as South Africa, Sweden, Hungary and South Korea, to name a few. The ICBF’s independently-published Carrier magazine, featuring the human stories of cargo bikers from across the globe, will also be on sale at the show.

Jam-packed programme
Alongside the expo, a stellar lineup of influential speakers will be gracing the ICBF stage. On Monday 13^th October, Meredith Glaser, Professor of Cycling at Ghent University and CEO of the Urban Cycling Institute, will give the opening keynote of the Dutch Mobility Summit, which this year is being hosted by the ICBF. Glaser will be followed by speakers on diverse topics related to utility cycling – including Pim de Weerd of chip manufacturer ASML – all moderated by President of the European Cyclists’ Federation Henk Swarttouw. The day’s programme concludes with a film screening; the Dutch premiere of “Finding Nessie”, followed by a Q&A session with cargo bike adventurers Katrien De Smet & Manu Cattrysse.

On Tuesday 14^th October, the programme focuses back in on the cargo bike. The morning programme will cover cycle logistics with speakers from Belgium, Mali and Germany, chaired by Chris Bruntlett of the Dutch Cycling Embassy. Changemaker Arieke van Liere will then preside over the afternoon session with speakers from Nigeria, the Netherlands and South Africa tackling subjects such as regulation and community empowerment. All sessions will be filmed by Broadcast Bike, a cargo bike-mounted broadcast studio and uploaded to the ICBF YouTube channel.
