2025 Edition of the Big Toronto Bike Ride on Oct. 5 at 4:00pm – Fundraiser to Support Cycling

October 5, 2025 - The 2025 edition of the Big Toronto Bike Ride on Sunday, October 5th is an extra special edition for us. You won’t want to miss it!

In May 2016, the original ~2km Bloor Street Pilot from Shaw Street to Avenue Road was approved by City Council, and made permanent in 2017. Together with a broad coalition of community groups and local advocates, Cycle Toronto members and supporters were essential in making that happen. Today, the corner of Bloor and Shaw is the busiest cycling intersection in the city, and a powerful example of what’s possible when we prioritize our streets for people.

Over the past twelve months, Cycle Toronto has been laser-focused on saving those bike lanes and others targeted for removal, and in July 2025 we won a landmark court decision keeping them. That win was powered by Cycle Toronto members and supporters like you.

To celebrate, we’re going back to where it all started and kicking off this year’s Big Toronto Bike Ride at Christie Pits. From there, we’ll ride together and celebrate (re)discovering Toronto by bike.

We’re aiming to raise over $60,000 to continue the fight and power our work, and we can’t do it without your support.

It’s not too late. Will you start fundraising and join us this year?

Special thanks to Cycle Toronto partners for helping make this event possible including:

The Big Toronto Bike Ride is more than just a ride. It’s an essential part of powering our movement. Don’t forget about the post-ride social with complimentary food and beverages, the return of trivia, and the announcement of the 2025 recipient of the Alex Amaro Cycling Kindness Award.
