Cycling Industries Europe Members Approve Merger with CONEBI for United Cycling Voice

release by Cycling Industries Europe

October 15, 2025 - (Brussels, BEL) At its General Assembly, the members of Cycling Industries Europe (CIE) endorsed a change to the association’s statutes that paves the way for a merger with CONEBI (Confederation of the European Bicycle Industry). This landmark decision marks the beginning of a new era for Europe’s cycling industry — one that will see the sector represented by a single, united association in Brussels.

The decision reflects a shared commitment by both organizations to strengthen the industry’s collective voice, enhance policy influence, and ensure that cycling remains at the heart of Europe’s green, digital, and industrial transitions.

“This is a historic and forward-looking step for our industry,” said Tony Grimaldi, President of Cycling Industries Europe. “By coming together under one banner, we will amplify our impact and build on the strong foundations that CIE has established. I would like to take this opportunity to thank every one of our members for their contributions, trust, and engagement over the years. Their work and commitment have made CIE the respected and effective organisation it is today.”

The decision also offers a moment for reflection on what the association has accomplished since its founding. From leading industry collaboration with successful Expert Groups to helping shape key European policy milestones — such as the European Declaration on Cycling — CIE has played a defining role in placing cycling at the centre of the EU agenda.

Under a new name, CIE will continue advocating for the cycling industry in Brussels, firmly placing cycling in Europe’s mobility and industrial strategies. By bringing together the strengths, expertise, and communities of CIE and CONEBI, the united association will remain a results-driven collaboration of its members.
