Rights of Way Fundraising Campaign in Support of B.C. Cycling Coalition and Safer Streets

release by the B.C. Cycling Coalition

October 26, 2025 - This week, the B.C. Cycling Coalition (BCCC), the province’s active transportation education and advocacy organization, is launching our fall campaign to build our membership and raise funds, so we can keep active transportation in the spotlight in the year ahead.

Help keep active transportation in the spotlight in the year ahead for a positive change. ©

This campaign is intended to drive awareness of the BCCC’s mission and support its diverse projects. Your generous donation will enable us to:

• Mobilize cycling, public health, and road safety organisations around the province to apply political pressure to re-fund Active Transportation Infrastructure grants (which were suspended indefinitely in September).
• Continue to find and tell the stories of pathfinders in the world of active transportation through our BikeSense podcast and social media.
• Train advocates to join us in targeted, friendly outreach to MLAs in hopes of turning them into allies of active transportation, safety, and a healthier future for B.C.
• Keep issues like the Safe Passing Distance legislation of June, 2024, and improved enforcement of traffic safety laws in the public spotlight.
• Turn the 8th edition of our authoritative guide to cycling in B.C., Bike Sense, into a multi-media resource targeting all road users.

Mobilize safe cycling… $15,000 raised by Nov. 15 will be matched by a generous donor. ©

If we can raise $15,000 by November 15, a generous donor will match this amount. Please get your gift in, ASAP!

Visit our Rights of Way Campaign page to learn more and make a gift here.
Your gift is eligible for a charitable tax receipt. Please be as generous as you can.

Your donation to Rights of Way B.C. shows:
You value human life: Every year, preventable tragedies occur on B.C. roads. By donating, you directly support efforts to reduce these incidents and save lives.
You want safer streets for everyone: Whether you’re a cyclist, pedestrian, or driver, slower speeds create a safer environment for all road users, including children, seniors, and people with disabilities.
You believe in the power of prevention: Investing in preventative measures like lower speed limits is more effective and less costly than dealing with the consequences of collisions.
You want to promote healthy, active communities: Slower speeds encourage more people to walk and cycle, leading to healthier lifestyles, cleaner air, and more livable neighbourhoods.
You want to help make positive change: Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a tangible difference in creating safer streets and communities throughout B.C.

For neighbours and for neighbourhoods, invest in a safer, healthier, and more vibrant B.C. ©

You’re not just giving money; you’re investing in a safer, healthier, and more vibrant future for British Columbia. As our campaign tagline states: For neighbours. For neighbourhoods. For the B.C. we’re building together.

Thank you in advance for your support in helping me and the BCCC make roads safer for everyone in communities across British Columbia.

Donate today here.

Sincerely,
Peter Ladner
BCCC Board Member

PS. Remember, if you give before November 15th, your gift will be doubled! If you give $50, it magically becomes $100. At $250, donation becomes $500. $1,000 becomes $2,000. Whatever you give helps immensely to improve the safety of everyone in our province.
