Yamaha eBike Systems Announces New Management Structure

release by Yamaha eBike Systems

February 2, 2026 - (Berlin, GER). Yamaha Motor eBike Systems GmbH in Berlin is realigning its management structure, thereby setting an important course for future development. Following the change, Managing Director Yuki Doi will head the company together with her deputies Dr. Daniel Wolde-Giorgis and Naoya Igo.

The former Brose Antriebstechnik GmbH & Co. KG was acquired by the Japanese Yamaha Motor Company (YMC) in August 2025. Since then, it has been steadily developing with the aim of further expanding its presence and growth in the European e-Bike business.

Yuki Doi joined the management team as part of the takeover. With more than 30 years of professional experience at YMC – mainly in corporate planning in the marine segment – she brings comprehensive international expertise to the table. Before moving to Berlin, Doi was president of the Mexico branch and then headed up global human resources management. Following the restructuring at Yamaha eBike Systems at the start of 2026, she will head up the Berlin-based company together with deputy managing directors Daniel Wolde-Giorgis and Naoya Igo.

Wolde-Giorgis will now lead Research & Development as well as Operational Business Activities. Igo joined the team on January 1 and has since been responsible for enhancing the sales and marketing functions as well as addressing company-wide challenges, including post-merger integration. Born in Tokyo, he has over 20 years of relevant professional experience at Yamaha, including more than ten years in the eBike product domain most recently. Until now, Igo served as General Manager at YMC, leading strategic initiatives for the eBike System (e-Kit) business.

Also new to the team is Jan Jochens, founder and, until September 2025, CEO of e-bike manufacturer Waldbike. He will take over operational management of the Sales & Marketing department on February 1, 2026. Jochens succeeds Alexander Baumann, who is leaving the company on January 31, 2026. Prior to his time at Waldbike, Jochens spent several years in the financial sector and in management positions in consulting and sales.

“We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Naoya Igo as deputy managing director overseeing sales and marketing,” says Yuki Doi: “At the operational level, he will be supported by Jan Jochens, who was our first choice for this position after a long and trusting collaboration with Waldbike. With their in-depth industry knowledge and proven leadership skills, both will play a key role in strengthening our position in the e-bike market and driving sustainable growth.”
