Eurobike 2026: A Joint Roadmap for the Future of Eurobike as Shimano Also Withdraws

by Benjamin Sadavoy

February 2, 2026 - (Frankfurt, GER) Following the mid-December leadership change news that saw Philipp Ferger take over the management of Eurobike organizer, Fairnamic GmbH, from Stefan Reisinger, the show announced a fresh breeze on Jan 29.

“During a conversation on the sidelines of the ECI Launch Reception in Brussels, Eurobike organizer Fairnamic and the associations European Cycling Industries (ECI), ZIV – The Bicycle Industry and Zukunft Fahrrad exchanged views on a relaunch of Eurobike from 2027 onward, potential forms of cooperation and the role of Eurobike 2026. The aim is to jointly advance and sustainably strengthen the trade fair platform in Frankfurt am Main in close dialogue with the industry.

“The talks in Brussels showed that there is a shared interest in a strong, forward-looking Eurobike. Eurobike 2026 will be an important milestone in jointly laying the foundation for an enhanced trade fair concept from 2027 onwards,” said Philipp Ferger, Managing Director of Fairnamic GmbH.

In addition, new hall layouts for Eurobike 2026 were announced, “With the new hall layout for Eurobike 2026, the leading trade fair emphasises compact routes and clearly bundled theme areas: Halls 11 and 12 will host both market leaders and innovative start-ups. Hall 11 is dedicated to performance and sports, featuring highlights such as the Adventure Area. Hall 12 focuses on everyday mobility solutions. The “Global Sourcing” area in Hall 8 showcases international trends and impulses, serving as a meeting point for industry and trade from all over the world. The offer is rounded off by extensive presentations in the outdoor area as well as a wide range of test and demo tracks.”

But soon after, Shimano released a statement indicating that the company would not be exhibiting at Eurobike 2026 which adds to the event’s woes, “As the industry continues to evolve, we are prioritising our customer- and consumer-focused events, where we can have personalised conversations and hands-on interactions. Eurobike has played an important role in our industry for many years, and we value the relationships formed there. However, shifting visitor patterns, rising exhibition costs, and changes in how brands and riders connect have led us to explore different approaches.”

Earlier Bosch had announced they would not be displaying at Eurobike 2026 which followed the joint press release in Oct. 2025 by ZIV (Germany Bicycle Industry) and Zukunft Fahrrad announcing their decision not to partake in the show. Then in Dec. 2025, Riese & Müller announced “Campus Days” at their factory in Mühltal, Germany, on the same dates as Eurobike.

Back in Nov. Eurobike had reacted with concessions by cancelling its Mobifuture event, and in Dec. Fairnamic brought on Philipp Ferger to try and restructure “to achieve a better cooperation with leading players and associations in the international bike industry.”

The recent turmoil doesn’t augur well for Eurobike’s status as the leading trade fair for the bicycle industry. The next show is slated to take place in Frankfurt from June 24 to 27, 2026.
