March 31, 2026 - (Burlington, ON) The Share the Road Cycling Coalition (The Coalition) and the Ontario Traffic Council (OTC) are pleased to announce a new partnership that will bring their flagship events together for the first time.

Beginning this September 22-24, the OTC’s Active Transportation Symposium will take place on the eve of The Coalition’s Ontario Bike Summit, creating a three-and-a-half-day gathering dedicated to advancing active transportation across Ontario.

This coordinated event will offer attendees a seamless experience featuring informative sessions, hands-on mobile workshops, and inspiring keynote speakers. By aligning the two conferences, both organizations aim to provide municipal leaders, planners, advocates, and industry professionals with practical tools, real-world insights, and shared learning opportunities that support safer, more accessible, and more sustainable transportation networks.

“Bringing our events together reflects the growing momentum for active transportation in communities across Ontario as well as the synergies between our two organizations. This partnership allows us to deepen collaboration, broaden our reach, and equip attendees with the knowledge and inspiration they need to advance cycling and active transportation in their communities,” said Eleanor McMahon, Board Chair Share the Road Cycling Coalition.

The OTC echoed this enthusiasm. “Our members are increasingly focused on creating streets that work for everyone,” said Geoff Wilkinson, Executive Director Ontario Traffic Council. “By joining forces with The Coalition, we’re strengthening the connection between policy, planning, and on-the-ground results. This combined program will offer unparalleled value to professionals working to improve mobility and safety in their communities.”

The combined three-and-a-half-day program will feature:
• Expert-led sessions on infrastructure, policy, safety, and community engagement
• Mobile workshops showcasing innovative projects and real-world applications
• Keynote speakers who are shaping the future of active transportation
• Networking opportunities designed to foster collaboration across sectors

To celebrate their partnership, the OTC and The Coalition announced that registrants at both events will receive a 15% discount on their registration fee.

Registration details, program highlights, and speaker announcements will be shared in the coming days.

About the Ontario Traffic Council
The Ontario Traffic Council (OTC), formerly the Ontario Traffic Conference, was established in 1950 to improve traffic management in Ontario by drawing on the knowledge and expertise of those in the fields of enforcement, engineering, and education. Today, the organization provides leadership to the industry through education, guidance, best practices, research, innovation, data, and other resources and information to address multi-modal transportation issues, challenges, and opportunities. We accomplish this through the participation of our member subject matter experts in engineering, planning, and road safety for multi-modal transportation, which includes Motor vehicles, Personal, Commercial, Active Transportation, Walking & Rolling, Cycling, Micro Mobility, and Transit. OTC is a leading voice in multi-modal transportation in Ontario. We educate, advocate and provide guidance and share expertise to support our members and the industry, proactively shaping transportation policy through evidence-based expertise.
