May 3, 2026 - FOLD, based in Hamburg, won the German Design Award 2026 in “Excellent Product Design – Bicycles and E-Bikes” as the world’s first fully fledged foldable cargo bike.

With a 31cm standard width, FOLD is as agile as a regular bike. Thanks to the foldable basket and platform, it expands to 61cm. Featuring a Shimano Alfine 8 drivetrain, Tektro brakes, and Schwalbe tires, the adjustable Satori handlebar and foldable steering column adapts to any rider via its locking pin system.

Also available, are e-Fold and e-Fold Mini models offered with Shimano’s EP6 e-drive and a 504Wh battery, or Bosch’s Performance Line CX Gen5 system with a 545Wh battery, including accessories. Pricing starts at €3,495.
