May 7, 2026 - (Ontario, Canada) With cyclists keen to get out on the trails and roads as the seasons change, Ontario By Bike has 21 bicycle friendly award winning businesses to recommend as destinations to pedal to this summer.
Recently announced, and now in its 8th year, the best bicycle friendly business awards are well regarded by cyclists as well as participating businesses that vie for the coveted annual award.
For cyclists these businesses which range from accommodations to cafes, breweries, wineries, attractions and bike stores, including a stop at one of these bicycle friendly locations whether on a short ride from home, day trip or multi-day cycling adventure will elicit a warm welcome. Additionally, businesses selected as winners have gone above and beyond offering additional services and amenities to visiting cyclists and supporting the cycling community in a variety of ways.
To be eligible for the award, each business has to be a certified bicycle friendly location participating in the Ontario By Bike Network of over 1,700 businesses province wide. Participating locations have to meet criteria that ensures they offer cyclists what they need, and those that win the annual award – have taken that to the next level.

With research showing that 45% of cyclists had visited one or more businesses certified as bicycle friendly by Ontario By Bike in the past two years and 54% of certified businesses having reported business from cyclists had increased over the past two years – these awards and ensuing recognition are proving valuable.
Each award-winning business is featured in the popular monthly e-newsletter issued by Ontario By Bike and avidly read by over 16,600 cyclists. Additionally, cyclists can find info on bike routes, itineraries and all certified bicycle friendly businesses here, a top resource for cyclists looking for ideas and inspiration to plan outings and routes in Ontario.
