Gobao Unveils New X-Series eBike X1 and X1P Motors and E-CVT Drivetrain

October 15, 2026 - Gobao had a large booth at Eurobike 2026 that drew significant attention as the company unveiled its new X-Series e-bike motors, the X1 and X1P. The new system features an innovative, AI-supported E-CVT (Electronic Continuously Variable Transmission). It integrates the motor and a continuously variable gearbox into a single unit and offers manual control, eliminating the need for a traditional derailleur.

The new X1, designed for urban cycling and trekking, offers 120Nm of torque, up to 1,200W of power, a 400% gear range, and weighs 3.85 kilograms. It’s rated for 250W of continuous output, a maximum cadence of 120 RPM and a maximum speed of 25 mph/45 kph, depending on the e-bike manufacturer’s requirements. The Undergear ratio is 1:1, and the Overgear ratio is 1:4. The X1 allows shifting under 100% load with no gear-shifting noise. It’s also maintenance-free and easy for OEMs to assemble.

The X1P, for MTB and cargo bikes, features 150Nm of torque and 1,500W of maximum power, with a 500% gear range and a weight of 3.85 kilograms. Rated for 250W of continuous output and a maximum cadence of over 120 RPM, it also offers a maximum speed of 25 mph/45 kph, depending on requirements. The Undergear ratio is 1:0.8, and the Overgear ratio is 1:4. Once again, there is no gear-shifting noise, and shifting is possible under 100% load. The X1P is also maintenance-free and ready for easy OEM assembly.

Gobao claims that its ECVT Technology changes how an e-bike feels and rides. With no gears, no interruptions, and no shifting to think about, the system integrates the motor and transmission into an AI-supported unit that adjusts automatically while you ride. Riders just pedal, and the bike does the rest, similar to auto-mode in conventional e-bike systems.

The company’s Super Charging batteries raise the bar for high- performance charging, claiming an 80% charge in just 20 minutes and setting a new standard. Their 52V batteries, available in 500Wh and 750Wh capacities, use superfast charging cells designed for high charging currents. Gobao claims its intelligent battery management keeps charging stable and safe.

The CCU (Connectivity Control Unit) links the bike to a smartphone and digital services, including anti-theft protection with an alarm and flashing lights, geofencing alerts, battery protection, motor-assist disabling, lighting control, and more.
