October 18, 2026 - In early May, Bafang launched its new RG E510, a 5-speed auto/manual electronic gear hub, at the China Int’l Bicycle Fair.

Designed specifically for e-bikes, the new RG E510 pairs with mid motors that deliver up to 120Nm of torque and integrates closely with Bafang’s M210 (city), M410 (trekking), and M430 (cargo) systems.
The new system integrates five key areas: seamless shifting, with the motor and hub communicating in real time during gear changes.
Smart gradient response: a six-axis gyroscope measures the gradient in real time, and the motor proactively boosts assistance while the hub automatically downshifts or upshifts.
Automatic and manual control: in Auto mode, the system continuously selects the optimal gear based on gradient, cadence, and speed, while in Manual mode, each press triggers a shift within milliseconds.
Efficiency that extends range: Coordination keeps the motor operating within its most efficient rpm window, delivering more predictable range from the same battery capacity.
Over-the-air evolution: The combination of multiple sensors and over-the-air update capability unlocks potential for future riding scenarios and for personalized experiences.

Following the launch of the RG E510, Bafang unveiled its two racing-sport eMTB drive systems, the M510RS and the M560RS, at IBF 2026 in Italy in August.
The new RS series shares the same core architecture across both models: a six-axis IMU for real-time terrain sensing, Sport+ for pedal-by-pedal adaptive assistance (up to 500%), and Boost-to-Limit, which unlocks 800% assistance in a short-duration burst. Both models deliver 50% faster response and 33% more sensitive power stop than their standard counterparts, and Hill Hold and Walk Assist 2.0 are standard on both.

The M510RS delivers 110Nm peak torque (120-130Nm with Boost- to-Limit) and a maximum output
of 1100W (36V) / 1300W (48V), along with refined pedal-by-pedal precision. The six-axis IMU and Sport+ mode continuously monitor the rider’s pedalling and the terrain.
The M560RS is built for the steepest, most punishing terrain and features 120Nm of peak torque (140- 150Nm with Boost-to-Limit) and 1400W (36V) / 1700W (48V) of peak output.
Both systems are compatible with existing frames without modification, and Bafang offers a fully integrated ecosystem.
