August 15, 2020 - The pandemic has prompted the need in cities around the globe for better travel infrastructure and more outdoor public spaces. Toronto has responded with ActiveTO, a citywide plan for 40 kilometres of expanded bike routes, including several accelerated permanent installations.

Most routes to date are temporary, but supporters hope that these bikeways could eventually become permanent so cyclists can get around the city.
