Amsterdam Unveils World’s First Underwater Bicycle Garage for 7,000 Bikes at Central Station

January 25, 2023 - Amsterdam has opened the world’s first bicycle garage underwater, located under the city’s Central Station canal, with space for 7,000 bikes reports the NL Times and The Guardian.

The bicycle garage is connected underground to the metro and Central Station hall and took four years to build at a cost of around € 60 million. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the parking is free for the first 24 hours.
