Bafang’s New H700 for the eCity Market in 2022

by Jack Cracker

October 29, 2021 - Bafang Electric, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of e-bike drive systems, is launching their new compact H700 automatic, dual-speed, rear hub drive system for the urban commuting e-city market segment in the third quarter of 2021.

Following years of research and development, Bafang has successfully integrated a transmission into the motor which automatically adjusts the gearbox ratio by detecting the speed of the bicycle during cycling. Riders can now experience improved riding comfort and better cadence without manually shifting and with no effect on the power of the motor.

With a weight of 3.2kg, a maximum outer diameter of 136mm and standard OLD of 135mm, the H700 rear hub motor can be adapted to regular e-bike sizes for both belt and chain transmissions.

The H700 is also equipped with the deceleration system that Bafang is known for. In addition, the motor wiring is on the left side of the outlet structure to enable a concealed harness inside the frame to avoid unnecessary scratches.

Designed with a smooth and non- marking outer tube, the slender 10Ah battery and controller are integrated into the downtube to enable a more stable structure.

The simple single- button display is embedded in the tube for easy operation. And with Bluetooth functionality as an option, riders can explore a wider array of applications and riding experiences.

A high-precision torque sensor, developed independently by Bafang, lets riders enjoy a more relaxed and pleasurable journey during their commute or weekend outings.

Bafang Electric unveiled their new H700 drive system at the recent Eurobike 2021 International Show in Friedrichshafen, Germany, in September.
