May 19, 2022 - (Vancouver, B.C.) The British Columbia Automobile Association (BCCA) recently unveiled its new Evolve E-Bike Share initiative, the next generation of urban mobility to operate alongside its popular, award-winning Evo Car Share program.
Evolve is designed as a turn-key, zero-emission electric bike share program, that wil be targeted to businesses first via a pilot test run with the Vancouver office of global giant Deloitte. Amidst the global e-bike boom studies by McKinsey and Company show that 70% of workers would be willing to use micromobility vehicles to commute etc.
The program will offer regular e-bike maintenance, repair, cleaning and charging plus a 24/7 customer service team to support users. Following the success of its Evo Car Share – voted best in Vancouver for 6 years in a row – with over 1600 vehicles across Metro Vancouver and Victoria, the plan is to expand the e-bike program where BCAA’s 270,000 members can choose between Evo Car Share and Evolve E-Bike Share.
“We hope to give British Columbians the best vehicle for the job,” said Leanne Buhler, Strategic Ventures Manager for Evolve E-Bike Share at BCAA in the association’s Spring/Summer magazine.
BC has seen numerous e-mobility initiatives recently launched including its Scrap-It Electric Vehicle Rebate, expanded PST exemptions on qualifying e-bikes, e-trikes and e-conversion kits, Plug-in BC e-cargo bikes rebates for commercial enterprises and more.
