February 24, 2020 - Fans can get their first look at the new 2020 ARIV line of e-bikes from General Motors, that will debut in Canada at the Gears Bike Shop booth, alongside the Chevrolet Volt presented by The Humberview Group, all at the Toronto Bicycle Show & E-Bike Expo, Mar. 6-8.
Both the ARIV Meld, a compact e-bike, and the Merge a folding e-bike, will be on display and available for testing at the show’s Ebike Avenue.
In February 2019 GM announced ARIV as the name of its new eBike brand, following a global crowdsourcing campaign unveiled in November 2018. The lithium-ion-battery-powered e-bikes were first launched in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
Built from the ground up, the stylish e-bikes can connect with Bluetooth via an ARIV e-bike app, and feature batteries with innovative technology that can last for up to 64 kilometres of ride time. The app provides riding metrics such as speed, distance, remaining battery level, motor assist level, distance traveled and more.
The compact design of both models allows for smooth transit and storage. The Merge folds easily, allowing customers to conveniently roll the bike on its two wheels while folded.
