Cannondale Partners with Garmin for Industry First Radar on New Mavaro Neo 1

by Barry Lyster

April 22, 2020 - (Wilton, CT) Cannondale has partnered with technology giant Garmin for an industry first to improve safety and visibility on their new Mavaro Neo 1. The Mavaro integrates Garmin’s Varia RTL510 bike radar into its stock taillight. The Varia provides information on traffic approaching from behind up to 140 metres. The information is then relayed audibly or visually via a Garmin compatible display unit to indicate the current status of traffic: green indicates all clear, yellow means traffic is approaching while red alerts riders to use caution. The Varia doubles as a powerful taillight, providing 220 degrees of visibility up to one km away in daylight.

The new Mavaro Neo 1, the latest addition to Cannondale’s e-bike family is more than a city bike, aligning comfort, style, quality, and innovation for all-around versatility. The step through Smartform C1 alloy frame adds a comfortable upright position while the HeadShock, Parallelogram suspension seatpost and 50mm wide Schwalbe tires smooth out the ride on the roughest of roads. The 250w Bosch Performance Line CX motor with a snappy 75Nm of torque is ideal to quickly navigate the city streets with a 120 km of range allowing a quick escape to the countryside.

The Enviolo internal gear hub with manual twist shifter is paired with a Gates belt drive giving reliable, durable shifting and with the Mavaro coming complete with fenders, rack and lights, limitless possibilities await.

Currently this model is only available in Europe and MSRP is not yet available. For more information click here.
