The Project Design and Management Section undertakes a variety of projects across seven units. The two units hiring include:
- Cycling and Pedestrian Projects (1 Temporary position) – Accountable for the integrated design and delivery of cycling and pedestrian infrastructure including new sidewalks, and on and off street bikeways.
- Capital Projects and Program (2 Permanent positions) – Accountable for the planning, programming, prioritization and development of the division’s 10-Year Capital Program capital program and initiation of capital projects including active transportation, surface transit, road safety / Vision Zero, and other types of roadway projects.
As a Transportation Engineer in the Cycling & Pedestrian Projects Unit, you will oversee and guide the design and delivery of multi-modal projects that help advance goals in adopted City policies like TransformTO, RapidTO, Vision Zero Road Safety Plan, Cycling Network Plan, Missing Link Sidewalk Policy, and Toronto’s COVID-19 Recovery and Rebuild Strategy. You will primarily be responsible for estimating, preparing and managing contracts and rosters for the design and delivery of multi-modal engineering projects, supporting Senior Engineering staff. You will also lead and support Senior Project Managers and other design/delivery staff to plan, investigate and design multi-modal projects, prepare reports and make recommendations for transportation projects and initiatives.
