October 1, 2022 - According to an official report by the Department of Transport in the UK, cycling had the largest increase of all traffic modes up 15.7% overall since 2019 reports Active Travel England.

Monthly pedal cycle traffic levels in 2021 were higher than the equivalent months in 2019, except in October 2021. The highest levels were seen in March (+41%) and April (+35%) than the equivalent months in 2019, respectively.
Yet provisional 2021 figures estimate that CO2 emissions in the UK increased by 6.3% in 2021 from 2020. Emissions from transport increased by 10% in 2021, the largest increase for any sector. In 2020, road transport accounted for 31% of the UK’s CO2 emissions.
