April 19, 2022 - On April 22, the City and County of Denver will offer residents a $400 rebate for an e-bike and an additional $500 for anyone buying an e-cargo bike (total $900), while income-qualifying residents could receive a $1,200 rebate. The initiative is part of the city’s Climate Action Rebate program.
To qualify for the rebate, the electric bike or cargo bike must be purchased from a participating bike shop after the program launches, and used by the applicant – not for resale.
Participating bike shops include Hardt Family Cyclery, Elevation Cycles, Good Turn Bikes, Fatte-bikes, SloHi Bikes, eBikes USA, Pedego Denver, Epic Cycles Denver, and REI.
Recent research from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory found that low-income workers who receive an e-bike ended up using it for 30% of their daily trips.
