Dublin is 4th City in Ireland to Launch an eCargo Bike Initiative for Businesses

September 20, 2021 - Dublin’s City Council is now the fourth local authority in Ireland to launch an e-cargo bike initiative for businesses reports Irishcycle.com. While Dublin already has the highest concentration of commercial cargo bikes in use, the popularity of e-cargo bikes is growing fast .

Dublin has teamed up with Bleeper, a bike sharing operation, to run a trial e-cargo bikes scheme for six months aiming for businesses to switch from vans or car deliveries given the direct benefits of e-cargo bikes.

“The aim of this pilot scheme is to introduce more businesses to cargobikes and let them experience the benefits, from climate to the bottom line, first-hand,” said Jennifer McGrath, Head of Micro Mobility in Dublin City Council.

Earlier this year Cork City Council, Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, and Fingal County Council launched schemes for businesses.
