The new Synapse NEO, with disc brakes and a 225-kilometre range, is an e-bike build based on the original Cannondale Synapse. Featuring three models, the drive system is provided by the third-generation Bosch Active Line Plus motor that is paired with the lightweight Bosch PowerTube battery and offers up to 250Wh of assistance. All this is hidden nicely by a beautiful lightweight aluminum frame that has a carbon fork that provides up to 37mm of tire clearance. The SRP starts at $5,700.
Bianchi Aria e-Road
Bianchi deepens its high-end e-bike range by launching the new Aria e-Road aero carbon bike. Developed with a specifically fit Inner Power Drive – or IPD – system, the Aria e-Road features ebikemotion’s powerful X35 V.2 pedal-assist technology. At 3.5kg, the rear hub motor is extremely powerful, producing 40Nm of torque at the rear wheel, and offers powered assistance at speeds between 15 and 25kph. Nestled between the rear-cassette sprockets and the rear disc-brake rotor, the motor offers zero interference or drag and the bike can be ridden without any electrical-power assistance if desired. The SRP is $8,995.
Bulls E-Core EVO EN Di 2 27.5+
Bulls highlights its new 2019 bike models with the launch of its cutting-edge E-Core EVO EN Di 2 27.5+. Shimano’s 250W E-8000 e-MTB motor, with two 375Wh power packs for total power of 750Wh, offers unmatched levels of torque. Unfailing immediate shifting can be found thanks to its Di2 XT electronic drivetrain, all running off the bike’s integrated batteries. A RockShox Lyrik front fork and Fox Float X2 rear shock provide 180mm of plush front and rear suspension and are paired with 203mm Shimano XT disc brakes and a KS Lev dropper seatpost, making the bike easy to control on the way down. Specialized’s Turbo Levo
Specialized’s Turbo Levo e-MTB has been entirely overhauled for 2019, now with a new chassis, motor, battery and software. With 40% more range, the Turbo Levo’s ultralight magnesium-bodied Specialized 2.1 motor is not only the quietest motor in its class, but is also easily connected to the Mission Control app for performance analysis and setting adjustment. With a new sidearm frame design for exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio, the new Turbo Levo is also more capable on the ups and downs because of its updated frame geometry and specs. iGO Carbon eRoad
iGo’s Carbon eRoad sets a new performance standard, and features Bafang’s new M800 drivetrain and Shimano’s 105 hydraulic groupset. Slick internal cabling pairs well with the integrated mid-drive motor and battery that go almost unnoticed on the frame. With Bafang’s heads-up display unit, riders can measure their wattage throughout the ride, as well as their battery and speed levels amid other crucial metrics. The Bafang m800 motor has a range of up to 90 kilometres and offers five levels of pedal-assist. The SRP is $6,950.
Ruffian
The Ruffian is a high-performance, quality e-bike that is handcrafted in Germany. Motorino XLr
For 15 years, Motorino has been blazing a path for electric bicycles and scooters in Canada, and continues to do so with its new XLr model. The innovative iron-and-aluminum-alloy frame is extremely lightweight for an e-bike at 28 lbs., and is designed with a classic road-style geometry. A 36V 8Ah replaceable battery with Panasonic Lithium-ion cells is integrated into the downtube, and is paired with an equally low-profile 250Wh 36V rear-hub motor that offers 50Nm of torque. Control of the XLr comes from a three-button control pod that has five levels of speed control, with a maximum speed of 32kph. The SRP is $2,390.
Riese and Muller Nevo GT
The Riese and Muller Nevo GT is a new, very capable touring bike designed with a low standover and DualBattery technology that features two integrated 500Wh batteries for 1,000Wh of power. The four models in the Nevo line all include a front-suspension fork and seatpost, a Bosch Performance CX battery that boosts speed up to 32kph and Magura MT4 disc brakes. A rear rack, fenders and 27.5” wheels are included. The SRP is $6,489.
Felt 2019 Sport-E 50
Felt releases its new 2019 Sport-E 50 model as an impressive option for commuters and fitness-minded riders. A double-butted 6061 aluminum frame keeps the bike lightweight, while an upright geometry makes for a more comfortable riding position. The bike is centered around a Shimano e8000 drive system that features 250 watts of efficient pedaling power, all supported by a 500-watt Shimano E8010 seamlessly integrated into the downtube of the frame. New for 2019 is the Gazelle Arroyo C8 Elite step-thru city bike, a recent winner of the prestigious iF Design Award. It offers a 180-kilometre range and 50Nm of torque via an integrated Bosch Performance Line mid-drive electric motor. Magura hydraulic disc brakes provide control, while a lightweight suspension fork and seatpost offer increased comfort. Powered by a Bosch PowerTube 500Wh battery, this bike reaches speeds up to 32kph, and comes with front and rear fenders along with a rear rack. The SRP is $4,715.
T-Zone Wagon
The T-Zone Wagon tricycle features unbeatable value, safety and stability for daily errands. Coming stock with a comfy gel spring seat and a rear basket that is certified for up to 125kg, the T-Zone Wagon is capable of trucking home almost anything. Haibike Xduro Nduro 3.0
Haibike presents its new award-winning Xduro Nduro 3.0 e-MTB model that heralds its recently released Flyon technology consisting of a new innovative HPR120S motor with incredible power and range capabilities. Providing 120Nm of torque and assistance levels of up to 500%, this evolutionary e-MTB bike is powered by a 48V energy storage system with 630Wh capacity. Pinarello Dyodo
The all-new Pinarello Dyodo is a stunning e-road bike designed to travel farther and faster than the previous Nytro model. The Dyodo features the world-class ebikemotion X35 drive unit, adding 250 extra watts (up to 20mph), 40Nm of torque and has no resistance when not in use. The X35 system also includes a 250Wh battery that will keep you rolling for up to 60 miles and has the ebikemotion app to display performance, battery life, navigation and riding data. The best part of the Dyodo is that it looks and feels very similar to a Pinarello with its carbon frame and agile geometry, while still providing that extra boost needed to get over the climbs. The SRP is $12,750.
Stromer ST5
Stromer’s ST5 comes with a newly developed Syno Sport motor that boasts 850Wh of power (650Wh in North America) with a range of 60 to 180km and 48Nm of torque. The first in the Stromer line to feature Sport Mode, for more power at the push of a button, other cool ST5 features include a new keyless, Bluetooth-enabled battery-locking mechanism that auto-activates when you approach or walk away from your ST5, a toptube integrated touch-screen control panel that offers connectivity for a second screen mounted on the bars, as well as high-performance Pirelli Cycle-e tires developed exclusively for Stromer. The ST5 comes with a Shimano Alfine XTR Di2 11-speed 11-42 drivetrain, an FSA Gossamer 52T crank, TRP brakes, integrated Supernova M99 Pro headlight and tail-light, and custom aluminum fenders. The SRP is $9,999.
Opus WKND
The new Opus WKND e-bike series is made of hydroformed aluminum and has a heads-up geometry frame for triple duty on commutes, workouts and fun rides. The Shimano Steps E5000 integrated motor and nine-speed rear derailleur offer an efficient pedaling platform, while the 418Wh battery fits seamlessly in the downtube, and can be 80% charged in less than two hours. Hydraulic disc brakes modulate speed on the 700c Alex ATD550 wheels and Vittoria E-Rando 40c tires. As well, the upgraded WKND LRT features a Steps E6100 drive unit and Suntour suspension fork for more heavy-duty city performance. The SRP is $3,079.99 for the WKND, and for the LRT, it is $3,599.99.
Cannondale Cujo NEO 130
Cannondale’s Cujo NEO 130 is a full-suspension e-MTB with Shimano’s Steps E8000 power-assist. The system comes with a heads-up display and features simple controls and seamless power transfer to fly up any gradient. Downhills are also a breeze when 130mm of travel and trail-bike geometry are matched with Cannondale’s DownLow dropper seatpost. Finishing off the bike are a 1 x 12 drivetrain and a stylish paint job. The SRP starts at $5,500.
